The dedication of the contest to Dr. Niemen recognizes his great support for Dominican judo, as a doctor.
With a dedication to Dr. Juan A. Niemen, the Dominican Judo Federation (Fedojudo) will celebrate this weekend the National Cadet and Junior Championships at the National House, at the Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center.
With the dedication of the competition to Dr. Niemen, immortal of the sport in the San Pedro de Macorís Hall of Fame, Fedojudo recognizes the doctor’s contributions to that entity.
The tournament, organized by Fedojudo, will bring together the best judokas, male and female, from the different associations affiliated with the governing body of judo in the country. For this Friday, from 5 in the afternoon, the weigh-in and the technical conference will be held, according to Leidi Germán, technical director of Fedojudo.
Less than 200 individual athletes will compete in the championship, in both branches.
The program will take place Saturday and Sunday, starting at 10 in the morning.
