Dallas Cowboys Reduce Dak Prescott’s Contract Impact on Payroll

The Dallas Cowboys have made a change to quarterback Dak Prescott’s contract to reduce his impact on the team’s payroll.

Field Yates de ESPN announced that a $5 million bonus was transformed into a signing bonus. In doing so, the contract’s payroll decreases by $4 million for the next season. It is valued at just over $55 million.

Another way for the Cowboys to lower this amount would be to offer Prescott a contract extension. This attempt remains on the table according to ED Werder, still ESPN.

The Cowboys have been quiet on the free agent market since it opened following their playoff loss to the Green Bay Packers. They added linebacker Eric Kendricks with a one-year pact worth $3.5 million.

The Texan team will eventually have to offer new, significantly lucrative contracts to receiver CeeDee Lamb and defensive lineman Micah Parsons.
