Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott has filed a lawsuit against a woman and her lawyers because he claims he was the victim of an extortion attempt.
This was learned by “Sports Illustrated” magazine on Tuesday, a day after the footballer filed legal documents in Collin County, Texas, court.

Last January, Prescott received a letter from attorneys Bethel and Yoel Zehaie on behalf of a woman who accused him of sexually assaulting her in February 2017.
“Despite the tragic events, she is willing to forgo further criminal charges, as well as release this information to the public, in exchange for compensation for the trauma she experienced. His damages are estimated at $100,000,000,” it is written in the missive received by Prescott.
In his suit, the NFL kingpin is seeking a little over $1 million in damages. He also indicated that he intended to donate this sum to the Joyful Heart Foundation, which helps victims of sexual assault and domestic violence.
“We’re telling the truth,” one of the two lawyers Prescott sued told ESPN. Dak and his lawyers are trying to intimidate us and play tough by blaming the victim. We do not fear the truth. Dak must be held accountable for his behavior. We are not afraid of him or his legal team.”

Levi McCathern, Prescott’s lawyer, also released a statement.
“Mr. Prescott — a new father of a baby girl — has great empathy for survivors of sexual assault, he said. He firmly believes that all perpetrators of such crimes should be punished to the fullest extent of the law. To be clear, Mr. Prescott has never engaged in non-consensual sexual behavior with anyone. Lies hurt. Particularly malicious lies. We will not allow the defendant and her legal team to profit from this attempt to extort millions from Mr. Prescott.”
