The Leopards basketball 3×3 ladies took 3rd place by beating (20-17) their Beninese counterparts in the match for 3rd place. They take the bronze medal.
It is a more than deserved reward for the Congolese women who had a good tournament. Some clearly expected them at this level given the approximate preparation that the entire Congolese delegation had before approaching these Games. But what is certain is a good result for the Congolese women who did better than the men who left the competition during the group stage. This is a first reward for this discipline which is not very well known and which does not even have a championship locally. This medal will perhaps change things for the leaders of the federation to take care of it a little more.
In terms of accounting, this is the 7th medal for the Congolese delegation, 2 silver and 5 bronze. We will now have to wait for boxing and judo which may perhaps bring back other medals while hoping who will have gold this time.
