The coach told details of how he started the sport in the city and the growth it had in so few years. “Archery was one of the first activities that was enabled during the pandemic. It was in 2021 that we began to mature the idea of ​​developing archery in María Grande,” Jamardo began.

“We started in María Grande hot springs in 2022 and continued in 2023 where we were able to set up a shooting range. But, with the need to continue growing in the number of archers, the possibility arose of making an agreement with the club and setting up a shooting range within Litoral,” he continued.

At the same time, he added: “The fact that the club is involved means that many people from the city can come and practice the discipline since to go to the hot springs, something that is far from the city, many people did not have the necessary mobility.”

“The main objective of this initiative is to raise awareness of the sport in the community of María Grande in particular. In general, in everything that is the Paraná Campaña department. The level of the archers is initial, since the only knowledge that some may have is having practiced with a homemade bow.”

On the other hand, Cesar Jamardo focused on the number of students he has: “Archery is divided into Seniors, Youths and Juniors. The school begins classes with 10-year-old children and 67-year-olds. Everyone shares the same line of fire until they start competing. There, each one is located in different categories.”

“As they progress, with competencies to fulfill to move to the category that corresponds to them, they are divided into various groups,” he highlighted.

In relation to those who have already taken the course, the person in charge detailed: “Archers who have already completed the course and have their bow and arrow meet on Saturdays at the club. The shooting range that welcomes us is 35 meters wide by 110 meters long, with recurve and compound bows. That’s why the difference in distances.”

In addition, he reported: “We are going to set a day in the week for those people who want to come and shoot. The school will operate one day of the week and on Saturdays so that they do not cross paths with those archers who are going to practice.”

“Archery is a new discipline in Entre Ríos. Two years ago the Entre Ríos Archery Federation was formed, which brings together all the clubs in the province,” he said and added: “As for the provincial map, it is very developed on the Costa del Uruguay, somewhat in the center of the province. and, on the Paraná coast, there is Paraná archery, which is the pioneer in Entre Ríos. It is the basis of the Federation.”

Finally, he highlighted: “The Federation created an adapted shooting commission. Generates tools so that archery is an accessible sport and all those with physical disabilities or intellectual disabilities can participate. Entre Ríos is a pioneer, worldwide, in generating these tools.”
