Ujap Quimper Badminton: Former Champions Return for Regional 1 Success

Regional 1

Between them, they left their mark on the history of Ujap Quimper Badminton. Next season, Tino Daoudal (20 years old, N1 in singles), Martin Biger (N2) and Simon Manéo (N1 when he stopped badminton for tennis five years ago) will wear the pink jersey of the Quimper club together. Ujap Quimper Badminton should therefore not get old in Regional 1 and immediately move up to Prenational.

It was first of all the return six months ago of Tino Daoudal which started this movement. He left the international scene and his life between Lyon and Strasbourg to return to his native Cornwall, not far from his family, with an upcoming start at engineering school in Brest.

In March, Simon Manéo returned to badminton training, after a few years on the tennis courts. He had some success and had the opportunity to train alternately with the club by obtaining a state coaching diploma.

Hearing this news, Martin Biger also expressed his desire to return. “Despite my work in Paris, I can make myself available for the championship days. Taking a breath of fresh Breton sea air will do me a lot of good. In addition, I will be able to telework and see my family again. »

A new page in the club’s history

“A new page in the club’s history is being written with three former number ones returning simultaneously,” rejoices the club’s sporting director Paul Reuter. These three players have in common an unconditional love for this sport, recognition for their training club, a natural competitiveness and the desire to experience great collective emotions. »

This should allow Ujap Quimper to regain its former glory, which in 2019 had competed in the play-offs for accession to Nationale 2.
