Just before half-time, Newcastle built on their dominance. After a high recovery, Alexander Isak played Axel Disasi and adjusted the Chelsea goalkeeper with a low cross shot (1-1, 43rd).
A sublime individual feat from Mudryk
Less than a quarter of an hour after the restart, Cole Palmer, in all good moves, gave his team the advantage by deceiving Martin Dubravka with a strong strike at the edge of the area (2-1, 57th ). The break then came from a sublime individual exploit from Mykhailo Mudryk, who in turn eliminated the defender with a small bridge and the goalkeeper with a fine hook, before slipping the ball into the back of the net (3-1, 76th).
The reduction of the gap by Jacob Murphy at the very end of the game (3-2, 90th) arrived too late to shake the Blues, who signed an important victory this Monday.
