Chelsea FC Struggles to Meet Financial Sustainability Rules as Five Stars Face Sale

Chelsea FC is once again planning to bring in new staff.

But before investments can be made in the “Blues”, the red pencil has to be unpacked. According to a report in the Telegraph, five Chelsea stars are to be put up for sale in order to avoid problems with the Premier League’s financial sustainability rules.

Then it will be Romelu Lukaku, Kepa Arrizabalaga, Marc Cucurella, Armando Broja and Trevoh Chalobah.

Just mediocre instead of top

In the past year and a half, Chelsea has already pumped over a billion into new signings – with a more than modest return so far, mind you.

The English capital club is falling far short of its expectations, is only in eleventh place in the league and is in danger of missing out on a place in the European Cup for the second time in a row.
