Minimum objective of coach Thomas Andrieux and his players, qualification for the playoffs at the end of the regular season is within shooting range. Since his logical defeat at the leader La Rochelle (87-73), Mathis Keita and his team have bounced back perfectly to string together two successes, first brilliantly on the floor of Châlons at the expense of Antibes (96-68) then, Tuesday evening, traveling to Alsace, after a tough match against Gries-Souffel (73-70).
Now 9th in the ranking, the Marne union is only one victory away from the 7th and 8th qualifying places for the Top 8, currently occupied by Lille and Pau-Orthez. While there are still eight championship matches to play, Champagne Basket will meet this Friday, March 29, from 8 p.m. at the Coubertin complex in Châlons, with the reception in Fos-sur-Mer (17th).
