BV Almere Looks to Claim National Championship Title in Badminton Final Against DKC in Den Bosch

Badminton Association Almere can become Dutch champion in Den Bosch on Saturday. A group of supporters left Almere by bus this morning to cheer on the badminton players. The team will play against DKC from The Hague at 1:30 PM.

The first team of BV Almere is in the final of the Eredivisie for the sixth time. The club has won the national title once so far, which was in 2020. It is the first time that DKC and Almere will meet each other in the final. BV Almere was eliminated by DKC in the semi-finals last year and therefore wants revenge.

The team qualified on March 10 by beating Drop Shot from The Hague in the semi-finals.

According to player Dyon van Wijlick, Almere faces a tough match against DKC. He says that the team from The Hague is the favorite on Saturday afternoon in the Maaspoort sports hall in Den Bosch. In the regular competition in the Eredivisie, Almere drew once (4-4) and in The Hague DKC was too strong with 5-3.

Reigning national champion BC Duinwick failed to qualify for the final, so a new team will be crowned champion of the Netherlands.
