The National Superior Basketball (BSN) will put into effect a new format to define the champion in the final stage of the 2025 season.
Ricardo Dalmau, president of the BSN, explained in El Trabuco Deportes that the two winners of the sections will advance to the Final Series.
“They are formats that are good too,” said Dalmau while explaining that the idea did not have the approval of the majority of the franchises.
In fact, he indicated that it was his vote that was decisive for approval as of 2025.
“Like everything, the counterargument was that the two best teams would not necessarily be in the final. That is true and was one of the things that was considered when the format was approved. Cross the two best teams to leave the opportunity to face each other in a final, but looking at it from the point of view of proximity, in one section there is Aguada, Quebradillas, Mayagüez and San Germán, teams that are very close and can compete each other. The number of people who will go is much greater,” said Dalmau.

Section A is made up of Arecibo, Quebradillas, Aguada, Ponce, Mayagüez and San Germán. For its part, Section B has Bayamón, Santurce, Caguas, Manatí, Carolina and Guaynabo.
