Boston Celtics Make it Rain from Beyond the Arc in Blowout Win over Wizards

WASHINGTON —

Sam Hauser had a career-high 30 points and 10 3-pointers to help the Boston Celtics beat the Washington Wizards 130-104 on Sunday night.

Jayson Tatum also had 30 points with six 3-pointers as the NBA-leading Celtics made 24 long-range shots in a game in which they never trailed despite being without three starters.

In the first of a back-to-back, with a game Monday in Detroit, Derrick White (left hand) and Jaylen Brown (right ankle) joined Kristaps Porzingis (right hamstring) among Boston’s injured players.

Tatum had also been in doubt due to an ankle problem. Instead, he played in his 31st consecutive game and Hauser made the 16th start of his career to lift Boston to 81 points before halftime and a lead that grew to 36 in the third quarter.

Hauser was 10 of 13 from long range and Boston was 17 of 28 from three-point range in the first half. The Celtics shot 48% from behind the arc despite pulling their starters midway through the third quarter.
