Borussia Mönchengladbach Looking to Secure Maximilian Wöber on Permanent Deal

Maximilian Wöber and Borussia Mönchengladbach – that fits.

The central defender has been playing for the “Foals” since last summer on loan from Leeds United. If he is fit, he is a regular at Borussia. In the current season, the 26-year-old played 21 league games (one goal, three assists).

In the past, Wöber has already made it clear that he could well imagine staying at Gladbach.

As “Sky” reports, the German Bundesliga club now wants to sign the ÖFB team player permanently. However, Gladbach and Leeds are said to have not yet entered into negotiations.

A fixed commitment is probably still unrealistic at the moment

Since Wöber is under contract on the island until 2027 and Borussia does not have a purchase option, a transfer fee is due. “Sky” expects a sum of between ten to twelve million euros and therefore currently considers a deal to be unrealistic.

The most expensive new signing in the club’s history is Alassane Plea, for whom Gladbach transferred a rumored 23 million euros to OGC Nice in 2018.

Stefan Lainer is in fourth place on the list of record additions. The signing from FC Red Bull Salzburg was worth around 12.5 million euros to the “Foals” in the summer of 2019.
