BVB, rumor: Quintet as victims of a savings plan?

Borussia Dortmund could go through another upheaval next summer. As Bild has learned, five players are said to be on a strike list. The possible departures of Mats Hummels, Marco Reus and Donyell Malen are not even taken into account. Accordingly, they want to save salaries at BVB.

Youssoufa Moukoko and Sébastien Haller (both contracted until 2026) are said to be part of the quintet. The club’s patience is said to have run out with Moukoko. If you get a good offer, be prepared to talk. In Haller’s case, too, people are no longer convinced internally that he can achieve his best form again. The striker is also one of the top earners with an annual salary of around ten million euros.

Also on the supposed cross-list: Emre Can and Salih Özcan. According to those responsible, Can is too inconsistent, while Özcan has doubts as to whether he has the necessary level for BVB. There is already concrete interest from Turkey in the latter. The two midfielders are also contractually bound in Dortmund until 2026.

Ramy Bensebaini completes the quintet mentioned in the report. The left-back still has a contract until 2027, but recently lost his regular place to Ian Maatsen. Even if it is unclear whether the left-back, who is on loan from Chelsea, will stay at all, internally they are not convinced of Bensebaini’s performance.
