Before facing PSG, Real Sociedad loses to Sevilla FC in La Liga

Four days before hosting PSG in the round of 16 second leg of the Champions League (2-0 for Paris in the first leg), Imanol Alguacil decided to rest Mikel Oyarzabal, Robin Le Normand and even Mikel Merino, this Saturday after -noon. Without them, Real Sociedad lost to Sevilla FC (3-2) on the 27th day of La Liga. Despite the hope born from a late score reduction, the Basques conceded their third defeat in a row.

Real Sociedad sank from the start, conceding an express double from Youssef En-Nesyri. The Moroccan striker from Sevilla FC took advantage of a repelled shot from Isaac Romero that returned to his feet to open the scoring (1-0, 11th). The same duo stood out immediately, since, served in depth by the same Romero, En-Nesyri sent a cannonball from a tight angle under the bar of Alejandro Remiro (2-0, 13th).

Real Sociedad has only won one of the four matches played since its defeat against PSG (0-2), in the round of 16 first leg of the Champions League, on February 14.

Masters of the ball (60% possession in their favor), the Basques reduced the gap with a penalty converted by André Silva just before the break (2-1, 45th+4). Guilty with one hand on this action, Sevillian Sergio Ramos made up for it in the second half. The former PSG defender deflected with his head a cross from Oliver Torres (3-1, 66th).

But the lack of realism from Romero (73rd) almost cost the Andalusians dearly, who conceded a second goal on a free kick from Brais Mendez (3-2, 90th+2) and suffered until the last seconds of added time .
