What a goal! Mathys Tel scored an absolute dream goal on his Bundesliga starting debut this season. During FC Bayern’s visit to Freiburg, the Frenchman got the ball on the left corner of the penalty area and shot it unstoppably into the far corner (35th).

His goal to equalize the score at 1-1 was Tel’s fourth goal of the season in the German upper house – and his first goal since October 2023.
Tel last scored in the Bundesliga in a 7-0 home win against Bochum on September 23, 2023, and in the Champions League last scored on October 3 in a 2-1 win in Copenhagen. As part of the French U21 team, the striker scored a brace against Cyprus on October 17th and has remained goalless since then.
Tel moved to the left flank in Freiburg for the injured Leroy Sané. “It may not be his favorite position, but it’s not a problem for him. We are happy that he is playing,” said Tuchel on DAZN.
