It will take three days to establish the league leaders at the end of matchday number 24 in Serie A. Monday’s postponement between Germani Brescia and Virtus Bologna it could be worth first place of the day and also of the regular season. Bologna is coming off two heavy defeats in the Euroleague which distance them from the top six places in the standings which guarantee direct access to the Play offs. Today, however, they would be eighth and would play in the play-ins after being second and third for a long time in the season. The physical and mental decline of the men coached by Luca Banchi is evident.
In the meantime, we begin with today’s two previews, the first between the very fast Pistoia and the equally healthy Treviso and then Trento against Sassari, a real play-off for a place in the play offs. Tomorrow Olimpia Milano, refreshed by two victories in Europe, hosts Napoli who have slowed down a bit after winning the Italian Cup. Tortona and Scafati, also in the big group at 22, play at home against Varese and Brindisi respectively. Pesaro, who beat Bologna last Sunday, is looking for a new challenge against Reggio Emilia who have not won away since December 10th. Venice finally goes to Cremona to try to temporarily catch Brescia in the lead, but the Lombards are returning from three consecutive defeats and want to return to victory.
