Basketball in the NBA: Los Angeles Lakers win catch-up

Without the ailing superstar LeBron James, the Los Angeles Lakers won their away game against the strong Milwaukee Bucks in the NBA – after twice overtime.

At 128:124 in the North American professional basketball league, the Lakers had not managed to take a lead over the Bucks in regular time, and the team was still behind by 19 points in the final quarter.

It was only 43 seconds before the end that the first equalizer was achieved after two free throws. In the end, Austin Reaves became the most important player on the court with a so-called triple-double: He had 29 points, 14 rebounds and ten assists. Anthony Davis also impressed with 34 points for the Lakers, including two free throws with 1.7 seconds left.

Giannis Antetokounmpo’s triple-double for the Bucks wasn’t enough: the Greek had 29 points, 21 rebounds and 11 assists. James missed the game with an ankle injury.

Mavericks continue winning streak

With their fourth win in a row, the Lakers maintained their lead over the Golden State Warriors, who won 113:92 at the Miami Heat and remain in tenth place in the Western Conference.

The Dallas Mavericks are now in sixth place with a 132:96 in a direct duel with the Sacramento Kings. Luka Doncic impressed with 28 points for the Texans, Kyrie Irving had 24 points. Würzburg’s Maxi Kleber played eleven minutes and had one steal during this time. The Mavericks now have five wins in a row, the Kings slipped to seventh place and out of the direct playoff places.
