This Wednesday, the UNFP unveils the three nominees for the title of best player of last month in the French championship.

Who to succeed Martin Terrier? The UNFP unveiled this Wednesday the list of three contenders for the trophy for the best player in Ligue 1 in February. Already rewarded in December, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is part of the list, he who largely contributed to the recovery of OM, notably with a double in the 4-1 success against Montpellier. Beyond his usual midfield slaughter, Brest player Pierre Lees-Melou found the net twice in February (Clermont, OM). Last but not least, Jonathan David has been running super for several months already. Enough to climb to second place in the L1 scorers’ ranking, behind the untouchable Kylian Mbappé (21 goals against 14). The Canadian striker from Losc scored five times in February, a double against Clermont (4-0) and a hat-trick against Le Havre (3-0), with an assist as a bonus (Toulouse).

As usual, the winner will be chosen 50% by the vote of professional players and 50% by that of the general public. Which votes will take place until February 17 on the UNFP Trophies website. Since the start of the season, Takumi Minamino (Monaco), Marcin Bulka (Nice), Kylian Mbappé twice (PSG), Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (OM) and Martin Terrier (Rennes) have been rewarded. Note that the nominees are Gaëtan Courtet, Julien Anziani (Dunkirk) and Irvin Cardona (Saint-Etienne) in Ligue 2.
