ASEAN Football Observer Says Indonesia is Stronger than Vietnam

Jakarta

ASEAN football observer Rhysh Rai also enlivened the Indonesia vs Vietnam national team match. He said that Shin Tae-yong’s Garuda was stronger than the Golden Star Warrior.

The Indonesian national team will face Vietnam in the continuation of the 2026 World Cup Qualifications at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (SUGBK), Thursday (21/3/2023). Ahead of this match, a war of words has been launched from both sides of each team.

Rhysh Rai from Singapore, whose voice often colors ASEAN football matches, also commented. The man who is also a former footballer was impressed by the presence of hereditary players in the Indonesian national team.

According to Rai, this is an added value for Shin Tae-yong’s team. Because of this, he now considers Garuda to have better strength than Vietnam.

“Indonesia may be a little stronger because of the combination of naturalized and local players who have just taken the team to the 1/8th round (last 16) of the Asian Cup,” said Rai, quoted by Vietnamese media. VnExpress.

“Their football level has also become better with the presence of additional naturalized players. Indonesia has also worked with coach Shin Tae-yong for longer. So they understand his wishes. The match will be difficult for both teams,” he added.

Meanwhile, Rai considered Vietnam to be in difficult conditions in the hands of coach Philippe Trousier. The French coach has so far not been able to provide proof that he can replace Park Hang-seo.

Of the 12 matches since taking charge of the team starting in early 2023, Vietnam has only led Troussier to win four times. In the last five matches, Vietnam has always lost.

“Troussier will learn a lot from watching stronger opponents play. Troussier is under great pressure and he understands it. His team must show development in the match against Indonesia,” said Rai.
