Laurent Chamu: “We are waiting for this meeting with a lot of impatience, but as far as I am concerned, also with a lot of caution because Villeneuve-d’Ascq still beat Sceaux and only lost by one point against Franconville, two teams of good level. If we don’t respect them, we will be punished, these are young people who want it in their faces, some even train with the pros, so we will have to draw on our experience. “In this meeting, the biggest danger is ourselves. I’ve been telling the girls for two weeks not to relax and not to lose concentration in training, so far I haven’t seen any of that. From my long experience, I have always managed to protect my teams from this type of fear. But, frankly, I don’t think they’re afraid of winning. In the event of a disaster on Saturday, we still have two games left, no reason to stress. »
First place is still achievable, is this a goal for you at the end of the season?
“Of course it’s always good to finish first in the group, but that won’t change anything since, in any case, in direct confrontation, we lost our two matches against Alençon. The important thing will be to win to maintain our momentum, regardless of the results of the other teams. Today, we have four consecutive successes and we see the next matches as preparation for the play-offs. So if we finish as leader, great, but that’s not what we’re focusing on. »
