Invited in the “Grandes Gueules du Sport” this Saturday, FC Nantes coach Antoine Kombouaré explained his management of Ramadan, but also that of Lent, with his FC Nantes players.

Asked about RMC , Antoine Kombouaré raised the sensitive subject of managing Ramadan within the locker room. This he takes into account, both during the week, for training, but also on weekends, when putting together his group. “To be together in the field, it means being together to eat in the morning, at lunch and at snack time”launches the one who found his place after the ousting of Jocelyn Gourvennec on March 19. “So far everyone agrees. But it’s between intelligent and responsible people. Those who do not want to follow this rule, there is no sanction. On the other hand, they stay at home.

“A penalizing month for the duration”

Same thing in training, where the program is different for players who are fasting. “During the week, we manage. There is no problem. We make breakfasts, those who fast do not come. We have lunches, they don’t come. When we double the sessions, they only do the morning session. In the afternoon, they are in treatment or resting. But they don’t double, because Ramadan is a month and it’s penalizing for them in the long term.»

FC Nantes, currently 16th in Ligue 1 before the 27th day of Ligue 1, will travel to Nice this Sunday at 3 p.m. A match to follow live with commentary on lefigaro.fr.
