“For me, being in the big league is everything, thank God, I worked a lot for that. Many people don’t know what I went through to get here,” the 22-year-old told the Margarita Braves Press Department.

“I’m super proud of me, my parents are proud of me, as are the people who supported me from scratch. Truly, this is a blessing and I am super happy with the results.”

However, “The Molix” recalled what it was like that moment in which the rockies’ coaching staff notified him about the new grade, something that he will undoubtedly not forget. “The manager called me to the office, I felt nervous, I said to myself: ‘Let it be what God wants.’”

“There was the manager, the pitching coach, and they asked me: ‘What does Rule 5 mean to you?’ I told him, honestly, that if they wanted me, I was going to stay on the team, and if not, I would return to Tampa. They told me that it was not necessary, that I had made the team and they congratulated me.”

Focused on the relief role

Likewise, he highlighted that he is focused on fulfilling the role of long reliever, but he also states that he is prepared for anything that comes. “During the preseason I felt very good. Thank God, in the offseason I had worked a lot and it went better than I expected, I worked on many of my breaking pitches. Thank God, I felt too good.”

At the same time, he thanked the support he has had from his compatriots in Colorado -Germán Márquez, Antonio Senzatela and Elías Díaz -, but he also had time to remember the people who in one way or another have accompanied him on his path to this promotion to the “Big Tent”.
