The Riverains du Bas-Saint-Laurent are proud to announce the coaching team for the 17U AAA team for the 2024 baseball season. The team will be able to count on a trio of experienced coaches.
Éric Rousseau, Head Coach:
At the helm of the Riverains du BSL of the 1U7 AAA Development Network since 2019, Éric will be back for a 6th season in 2024. Previously coach of the Trois-Pistoles CMB and coach of the year in 2018 of the Puribec Senior Baseball League of the BSL, Rousseau helped his team win 3 consecutive championships (2016-2017 and 2018). He was also head coach of Riverains at the U15 AA level in 2018 and U13 AA coach for 2 seasons (2016 and 2017). Éric is currently an assistant coach in the BSL Sport-Études Baseball program and he will continue to share his passion for baseball with our players.
Rémi Lévesque, Assistant Coach:
Rémi has been an assistant coach in the BSL Sport-Études program since the very beginning. He was an assistant coach with the Riverains du BSL at the 1U7 AAA level during the first edition in 2017. He subsequently joined the 11U AA as head coach in 2018 and 2019. Rémi graduated with the 13U AA still as head coach in 2020 and 2021. He subsequently took the reins of the 15U AA in 2022 and 2023, in addition to coming part-time as an assistant coach with the 17U AAA last year. Rémi, who is a formidable player in the Puribec Senior Baseball League of the BSL, played during his youth with the Drummondville Cascades at the Midget AAA level. He subsequently played at the Junior Elite level for the Ambassadeurs de Lévis and was part of the first edition of the Diamants de Québec. He subsequently played at the Senior Elite level with Rivière-du-Loup, where he won 2 championships. In addition, Rémi has 6 championships in the Puribec Senior Baseball League (4 with La Pocatière and 2 with Témiscouata).

David Métivier, Pitching Coach:
At the head of the Cégep Beauce-Appalaches Baseball Condors since 2022, David was previously involved in the Combattants AA de la Beauce program as a coach. During his career, he represented Quebec several times in national and international competitions with the Ailes du Québec, the Baseball Academy of Canada and the Dragons of Collège Laflèche. He also played with the Quebec Diamants and the Charlesbourg Alouettes in the Quebec Junior Elite Baseball League. David has a bachelor’s degree in secondary education. He will be in his first full season with the Riverains as a pitching instructor.
