Alexander Zverev has returned to the top 5 of the tennis world rankings after reaching the quarter-finals in Indian Wells, but the winner of the week is Angelique Kerber. After her three victories in the California desert, she jumped 265 places. In the WTA ranking, which is confidently led by Indian Wells winner Iga Swiatek (Poland), the three-time Grand Slam winner from Kiel is now in 342nd place. After her baby break, Kerber is not yet dependent on a top ranking, your participation in the top tournaments is guaranteed.

Zverev (Hamburg) was last among the top five players in October 2022, after which he slipped to 27th place in the rankings due to the forced break following his serious ankle injury. He climbed one place in the current rankings and overtook the Russian Andrei Rublew.

Novak Djokovic remains at the top despite the surprising third-round defeat in Indian Wells. The Serbs are followed by tournament winners Carlos Alcaraz (Spain), Jannik Sinner (Italy) and Daniil Medvedev (Russia). Djokovic has canceled his start at the Masters in Miami, but the Grand Slam record champion will retain his lead in the world rankings beyond the tournament in Florida.
