The El Limón Sports Center hosts this weekend the Andalusian Senior Championship organized by the Andalusian Badminton Federation and the Alhaurín de la Torre Badminton Club; an event that is sponsored by the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the Junta de Andalucía and the Hon. Alhaurín de la Torre City Council.
Alhaurín de la Torre City Council Press.- A total of 109 players (162 registrations) belonging to 21 different clubs in the Andalusian community: Jaén (Arjonilla, Úbeda and Bad-Flay); Córdoba (Baena, Córdoba, Montilla and Puente Genil); Seville (Rinconada); Huelva (IES La Orden); Málaga (Alhaurín de la Torre, Alhaurín el Grande, Benalmádena, Humilladero, Mijas, Estepona, Jorge Guillén, Málaga Evolution, and Vélez-Málaga), Granada (Armilla and Granada) and Almería (Almería) will meet this weekend in our municipality.
The mayor of Alhaurín de la Torre, Joaquín Villanova, and the Sports Councilor, Sergio Cortés, came this morning to greet the participants, wish luck to the local club, which will be represented in the Championship by seven players, and thank the team for their work. volunteers who will be collaborating in this event throughout the weekend.
The competition, which is also scoreable for the national ranking will count on very diverse categories, from the A1 to the SV+: IM-A1, IF-A, DM-A1, DF-A, DX-A1, IM-A2, DM-1. A2, DX-A2, IM-B1, IF-B, DM-B1, DF-B, DX-B1, IM-B2, DM-B2, DX-B2, IM-C1, IF-C, DM-C1, DF-C, DX-C1, IM-C2, DM-C2, DX-C2, IM-D – SV, IF-D – SV+, DM-D – SV, DF-SV – SV+. A total of 28 modalities.
The event, which began this morning around 10:00, will celebrate all the rounds of the Andalusian Championship today, leaving the semi-finals and finals for tomorrow, Sunday, followed by the traditional medal ceremony.
