An Army general is the new secretary of security in Guerrero – El Sol de México

Governor Evelyn Salgado Pineda formally swore Army General Gabriel Zamudio López as Secretary of Public Security (SSP) of Guerrero.

The governor highlighted that he is a Guerrero native from the neighboring municipality of Tixtla and replaces General Rolando Solano Rivera in office, who resigned due to the conflict that was generated by the murder of a student from the Ayotzinapa normal school.

This Sunday night, Evelyn Salgado published on her social networks the appointment of the new official who will begin her work immediately.

“To continue advancing on the path of pacification of the state, I inform you that I have appointed Mtro. “Gabriel Zamudio López as the new head of the Secretary of Public Security of Guerrero.”

He added that he is originally from the municipality of Tixtla “with deep ties to our land, he has been entrusted to abide by the principles of honesty and integrity, fulfilling the commitment to ensure the well-being of the people.”

“His appointment reflects our priority to strengthen the training, qualification and reorganization of the State Police, with the firm objective of having a corporation that provides the necessary attention and guarantees the tranquility of citizens.”
