AIFA VIP room, among the five best in the world – El Sol de México

Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA) was recognized for having one of the best VIP waiting rooms in the world.

This recognition was granted by Priority Pass, the Collinson Group company program that offers access to more than 1,300 VIP lounges at the largest airports worldwide.

The award-winning lounge was “Hacienda Santa Lucía”, operated by The Grand Lounge Elite, for its design and technological innovations, which include robot assistance services and immersive experiences for travelers.

“Leaning on innovation and technology, the lounge uses robots to serve drinks and personalize member experiences, a positive demonstration of the incredible technological developments we are witnessing in the Priority Pass network,” said the company’s jury. .

Priority Pass highlighted that the creative use of technology gives a “unique and distinguished” touch to all customers of said lounge at the AIFA, the flagship air terminal during the six-year term of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador.

In addition to the AIFA lounge, Priority Pass also recognized VIP stays at international airports in Turkey, the United States, Thailand and Argentina.

Food services, massages, movie theaters, masks, as well as sustainable use of water or waste, were the main characteristics for which the lounges at these airports were recognized.

At the end of January, the AIFA transported nearly 330,000 users, a figure that represented an annual increase of 76.9 percent and nearly 2.12 percent of all air travelers in Mexico.

In this terminal, located in the State of Mexico, the national airlines Aeroméxico, VivaAerobus, Volaris and Magnicharters operate, as well as the foreign airlines Copa Airlines, Arajet and Conviasa.

Some of the national destinations it has are Tijuana, Guadalajara, Veracruz, Monterrey, Mérida, while the international offer covers countries such as Cuba, Dominican Republic, Panama or Colombia.

On March 21, this airport completed two years of operations and since then it has transported just over 3.80 million users, both national and international.

Estimates from the federal government suggest that in a period of five years, the AIFA can mobilize 20 million people.
