Suspended initially by Kielce, the French winger returned to the field this Thursday in the Champions League.

Handball player Benoît Kounkoud, European champion with France, played again Thursday in the Champions League with his Polish club Kielce, which had suspended him on February 2, three days after an accusation of attempted rape brought against him that he strongly contests.

Kounkoud scored a goal in Kielce’s home victory against the Norwegians of Kolstad (31-23) according to the match sheet of the European Handball Federation (EHF). He is accused by a 20-year-old woman of having tried to rape her in a Parisian nightclub less than 48 hours after the Blues’ coronation at the Euro, on January 28.
