A good first half for Barça was enough against Bayern

He Barça solved his visit to the track Bayern after posting a solid first half (30-47) that allowed them to control the duel in the second half and take an essential victory (79-87) in their fight to stay among the top four. A good encounter with Jabari Parker (15) who recovered the success lost in the last matches, along with the success of Laprovittola and Vesely (12).

The duel started very physical for both teams, with Serge Ibaka commanding the Bayern zone, until Satoransky found Vesely who ended his first actions with two stratospheric dunks setting the Blaugrana offensive tone.

The defense of Barça It started at a high level without letting the Germans move freely in attack and that good defense allowed him to take his first gains (8-12). Grimau moved the bench, bringing on Parker, Willy, Abrines and Ricky with the Blaugrana in control with triples from Satoransky and Laprovittola (11-17) and a 0-9 run.

The Barça coach also introduced Brizuela for the last two minutes of the quarter with the duel in control, although the Germans took advantage of three free throws from Lucic (8 points in the quarter) and a triple from Weiler-Babb to get within four (17- twenty-one). Two actions by Ricky led Barça to dominate by six after those first 10 minutes (19-25).

Barça puts the direct

Ricky took center stage, dominating his duel with Sylvain Francisco and Barça went 8 (19-27), and Grimau gave them a rest as soon as the quarter began. A triple from Parker already took the lead to 11 (19-30) with Barça in total control.

The Barca The income continued to grow with a successful Parker (7) and with Brizuela’s first basketand Pablo Laso had to stop the duel because the Blaugrana opened up a gap (19-34 m.14).

Bayern were lost against Barça’s defense, and the Blaugrana, without mercy, were opening the lead that reached 22 points (21-43) again forcing Laso to stop the match. A single basket by Ibaka was all the offensive baggage of the Germans in the first five minutes.

Bayern tried to react before the break (6-0) although the slight comeback with a triple included by Ibaka (9 points and 5 rebounds) still left the Germans far behind Barça at the end of the quarter (30-47). A very weak Bayern that did not put Grimau’s team, clearly superior, in trouble.

Barça, in control

At the restart, Ibaka took the lead for Bayern, managing to reduce the lead to 12 (36-48) with Barça starting the fourth very soft, committing many fouls and without the tension of the beginning.

Although Bayern’s offensive errors with a response from Jokubaitis and a triple from Kalinic returned Grimau’s team to 18 points (38-56) and left the local reaction to nothing. Parker ‘shot down’ the locals and the lead returned to the 20’s (38-58). Laprovittola and Vesely came into action and the Argentine returned the maximum to Barça (40-62).

A Bayern without ideas and with a defense that was leaking allowed Barça to dominate the quarter, although three consecutive triples by the Germans forced Grimau to stop the match. He did not want Laso’s team to believe the comeback (49-64). The blaugranas closed the quarter with +18 (53-71) which practically gave them the victory with 10 minutes to play.

Bayern’s final reaction

The Germans made the ‘rubber’ again, approaching 11 with the points of an inspired Weiler-Babb (63-74) as Vesely committed his fourth foul. Willy reactivated the Barça attack, taking advantage of the absence of Ibaka, who Laso brought onto the court for that pulse of ‘fives’.

Bayern reduced the lead to six (77-83) although he already ran out of time to get close enough to Barçto which he added a key victory (79-87) in his fight to be among the four best.
