An unprecedented scenario is complete. Although the juniors from Olomouc entered the group in order to maintain the DHL extraliga juniors in first place, after six defeats in a row they fell to the bottom and are relegated to the Junior League. In a huge drama on the ice, Hradec Králové reached for victory and salvation.

Although two quarter-finals are also being played on Saturday, the main focus was on the two stadiums where the relegated team was decided. Černý Petr could still fall to three teams – Český Budějovice, Přerov or Olomouc. The first two had the situation in their hands, but later also the third.

If the Zubři won on the ice of Motor, there would be celebrations on both sides. But the result could not have been more different…

Přerov’s relatively promising performance in the first period was shattered by the goalkeeper

Matyáš Marík

goalkeeper, 17 years old

” href=” Mařík, whose teammates also scored in the fifth and sixth minutes. The second half of the second period definitively decided the fate of the match, when Motor jumped up to 7:0.

In the end, he won by two more goals with a higher margin. Like a good captain, he pulled his team to the rescue

Richard Pitel

attacker, 20 years old

” href=” Pitel (2+2) and goalkeeper Mařík bid farewell with 41 flawless saves before likely joining the national team.

In the south of Bohemia it was celebrated, but Přerov went to pray.

His fate was decided by the match in Hradec Králové, where Olomouc needed to win by any means necessary.

Compared to Thursday, Mountfield has already returned most of its supports to the game, but it was of no use for a long time. Even some veterans were on the ice when he surprised everyone in the 16th minute

Jakub Koudelný

attacker, 19 years old

” href=” Koudelny great action in self-weakening.

Mora had what she needed – a slim lead to defend. And a great goalkeeper too

Dominik Frgál

goalkeeper, 19 years old

” href=” Frgála, who destroyed a much more active home team in the first two periods.

But then Hradec started to grind and the Hanáci kept him in check very well. As time passed, Olomouc’s joy was approaching. But… He was kicked out in the penultimate minute

Michal Tomeček

attacker, 20 years old

” href=” Tomeček, paradoxically a heartthrob, who clearly cared the most about the team’s fate. The home substitute dismissed the goalkeeper and took a pass at 59:19

Michal Benes

attacker, 20 years old

” href=” Beneše went down from the defender’s blue line

Jan Pavelka

defender, 19 years old

” href=” Pavelka, who uncompromisingly fired the puck into the net from the first!

Olomouc was 41 seconds away from being saved, but she was still striving for the second point, which would be enough for her.

At that moment, all the actors had to remember the mutual duel from the last round of the superstructure, when the Hanács were in exactly the same situation on the ice of Hradec Králové: They needed a win to advance to the playoffs. But they lost in raids.

Now they were leading after Tomeček’s hit.

Tomáš Hora

attacker, 18 years old

” href=” Hora (who last time knocked them down with two successful attempts) but in the third series equalized and

Ondřej Zámečník

attacker, 18 years old

” href=” The locksmith turned in the fifth position.

To the young man

Lukáš Bošek

attacker, 17 years old

” href=” Bošek then lost the puck before the end and it was over. The fantastic goalkeeper Frgál immediately left the ice for the cabin, Tomeček broke his hockey stick against the goalpost in anger. It was heartbreaking to watch the disappointment of the fighters in red jerseys on the away team, but unfortunately that is what sport entails.

The junior from Olomouc did not maintain a huge eleven-point lead over Přerov, in the group for retention, she only lost a single point in Hradec.

As in the last season, they finish in last place in the DHL Extraliga. A year ago, it was saved from relegation by the expansion of the competition, now it is hard to imagine that the hockey association would take this step again. But we’d better wait, because we’ve had so many supercyclones in the last decade that nothing can be predicted.

Currently, the fact that the two oldest teams in Olomouc – juniors and juniors – are relegated from the youth elite.
