Wrestler Tadeáš “Mawar” Růžička Sentenced to Prison with Conditional Suspension

Wrestler Tadeáš “Mawar” Růžička already knows the punishment he earned by attacking an unknown man on the street. Even if the amount of the punishment is not as high as many people loudly demanded, Růžička still has to be careful. He is sentenced to eleven months behind bars with a conditional suspension of forty months. Even though he promised not long ago that he would be polite, his reaction to the verdict was far from being polite.

Růžička is currently in Thailand, where she is training intensively and preparing for the next matches. And it is from here that he often speaks to his fans, whom he assured not long ago that everything will be fine. But he had no idea that the verdict for assaulting a man on the street would be handed down in his absence. “According to the available information, by the criminal order of the District Court for Prague 7, the accused was sentenced to imprisonment in the amount of eleven months, the execution of which was conditionally suspended for a probationary period lasting forty months,” he said in conversation for CNN Prima News, the spokesperson of the Municipal Prosecutor’s Office in Prague, Aleš Cimbala. The information about the punishment the young wrestler earned began to spread very quickly on social networks, and many people were impatiently waiting to see how Růžička would comment on the whole situation. But he himself apparently only found out about the verdict from the media and social networks.

“Damn it, people, stop believing the tabloid bullshit! The verdict is not that I’m going to sit. I got a high condition. If I sold five grams of weed, I’m going to sit for five to ten years, those are the rules here in the Czech Republic. Do your numbers on someone else,” Růžička said in a video he added to his Instagram. Even though he recently posted a video in which he apologized for his behavior and people praised him for his words, his statement was not very appropriate in the current situation. But the young wrestler continued his speech. “I didn’t even take it because I’m nine thousand kilometers away. You can mail it here, I’m here. Keep your own way and stop solving other people, you w*e! They are like mosquitoes. They just suck the blood out of you like that,” said Růžička.

It is said that the 26-year-old wrestler will not receive the document in which the determination of his punishment is written for a long time. He plans to stay in Thailand for another two months, because he will continue to train and also have matches waiting for him. Returning to the Czech Republic will probably be unpleasant for him. He can appeal against the verdict, but even so, he probably won’t get rid of the criticism for a long time. Some people began to recognize Růžička after his recent statement, because he behaved humbly and admitted that he did things that he definitely shouldn’t have done. But now a lot of people have spoken again who insult Růžička and don’t understand how he could get out of the whole incident only with a condition. “Only eleven months on probation? I would give him at least five years! Seriously? Just a condition for this? Well, you must be fooling yourself! People who do some kind of combat sport should be punished at a higher rate if they hurt someone,” people on social networks reacted angrily to the announced verdict.

At the time when the infamous video in which Růžička was beating an unknown man on the ground was spreading on the Internet, several Czech wrestlers commented on the attack. None of them understood how Růžička could do such a thing, and basically everyone condemned him. Růžička even closed his doors in several wrestling organizations, but the management of the RFA organization did not want to exclude him. Even though Růžička is now under the scrutiny of many people and has to be very careful about what she does, she will probably return to wrestling again in the Czech Republic. Even though he committed things for which he will have to serve a sentence, he is still one of the elite Czech wrestlers, and despite the fact that he is highly criticized, many people want to see him in the wrestling ring.
