Who Will Replace Injured Joel Embiid and Julius Randle in the NBA All-Star Game?

Who Will Replace Injured Joel Embiid and Julius Randle in the NBA All-Star Game?

Both selected to participate in the next All-Star Game, Joel Embiid and Julius Randle are currently injured and expected to miss the All-Star Game on February 18. Who will replace the two interiors in the East?

As always, it is NBA commissioner Adam Silver who will decide, and we already know the names of those who can potentially replace Embiid and Randle.

Trae Young

Stats: 27 points, 2.9 rebounds, 10.9 assists, 1.4 interceptions, 42.3% shooting (36.8% at 3-points) and 86.3% on free throws.

Trae Young could clearly have claimed a place among the 12, but he is paying hard for the Hawks’ extremely disappointing results (20 wins – 27 losses, 10th in the East) this season. Not sure that things will get better in the coming days for Atlanta, but at the same time it’s difficult to ignore the individual production of Ice Trae. The Falcons leader remains one of the best scorers and passers in the NBA, and has a good chance of being selected by Adam Silver.

Kristaps Porzingis

Stats: 19.4 points, 6.9 rebounds, 2 assists, 1.8 blocks, 52.1% shooting (35.8% at 3-point), and 83.9% on free throws.

The Celtics already have two All-Stars (Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown), but could have a third given their great domination this season. Among the candidates: Kristaps Porzingis. Arriving this summer, the Latvian interior has integrated perfectly into the Boston collective. Better still, it allowed the latter to take on a new dimension. Through his ability to spread the floor on offense and weigh in both paints, Porzingis is one of the most important players in the Celtics’ success.

Derrick White

Stats: 15.8 points, 4 rebounds, 4.7 assists, 1.2 blocks, 1 interception, 45.8% shooting (40% at 3-points), and 89.5% on free throws.

Another Boston player! Role player par excellence, Derrick White is one of the reasons why the Boston collective is so strong on both ends of the field this season. Almost always making the right choices on offense, and rightly considered one of the best outside defenders in the NBA, White has interesting arguments to convince Adam Silver.

Myles Turner

Stats: 17.2 points, 7 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 1.9 blocks, 52% shooting (33.7% at 3-point), and 79.2% on free throws.

To be honest, we’re not sure what Myles Turner is doing on this list. But obviously, the Pacers’ good run this season combined with the production of Myles Turner on both sides of the field is enough for the Indiana pivot to be considered as a possible replacement for the All-Star Game.

Myles Turner, Derrick White, Trae Young and Kristaps Porzingis are among the players Adam Silver will consider to replace Julius Randle, who is out for at least the next 2-3 weeks with a shoulder injury.

Jarrett Allen

Stats: 15.3 points, 10.6 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 1.1 blocks, 65.1% shooting and 75.3% free throws.

If the Cavaliers – fourth in the East – have stringed together victories without Evan Mobley and Darius Garland, it is not only because Donovan Mitchell was a success. It’s also because Jarrett Allen was imperial, stringing together double-doubles while being Cleveland’s defensive leader. Already an All-Star in 2022, Jarrett Allen clearly deserves consideration for a new selection.

Scottie Barnes

Stats: 20.2 points, 8.2 rebounds, 5.8 assists, 1.5 blocks, 1.3 steals, 47.6% shooting (including 35.9% from 3-point range) and 76.7% from free throws.

By transferring Pascal Siakam and OG Anunoby, the Raptors decided to give the keys to Scottie Barnes, who has established himself this season as the boss of Toronto. The 2022 Rookie of the Year – who stagnated a bit as a sophomore – reached a real milestone this year despite the disappointing results of the Dinos, he who released his best stats in almost all individual categories. He will be at the All-Star Game in the future, it remains to be seen if it is as early as February 18th.

Others : Pascal Siakam, Jimmy Butler, Michael Bridges
