Vietnamese badminton player Le Duc Phat wins Uganda International Challenge tournament, eyes Paris 2024 Olympics

Hanoi, Feb 28 (Prensa Latina) Le Duc Phat’s victory in the Uganda International Challenge badminton tournament today fuels Vietnam’s hopes of being able to get one more place for the upcoming Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

With this triumph, in addition to his first international title of the year, the Vietnamese player obtained four points valid for the world classification, so he could sneak into the top 70 in the next publication of the universal ranking of that discipline.

In addition to Duc Phat, 26 years old and with a record of 104 victories and 65 defeats in his sporting career, Vietnamese badminton has two other competitors with the possibility of achieving a ticket for the Parisian Olympic event.

In the women’s branch, the aspirations are placed in their first racket, Nguyen Thuy Linh, while among the men, Nguyen Hai Dang, recent winner of the Iran International Badminton Open and ranked 97th in the world ranking, could achieve it.
