Venezuelan Professional Baseball League Suspends Players for Doping Violations

The Board of Directors of the Venezuelan Professional Baseball League announced this Wednesday the names of the players who were suspended for violating the LVBP Anti-Doping Program (PALVBP).

Those sanctioned are the pitchers Félix Doubront, from Bravos de Margarita, and Bruce Rondón, from Tigres de Aragua.

On December 6, 2023, Doubront was subject to an anti-doping test. Later, on December 21, Rondón was subjected to the test. Both procedures, in accordance with the provisions of the PALVBP.

On January 5, 2024, the result obtained from the first test was received and on January 17, the second, analyzed by the

UCLA Olympic Analysis Laboratory in the United States of America. These results came back positive for a prohibited substance.
