Venezuelan Luis Rengifo Projected as Leadoff Hitter for Los Angeles Angels

The Venezuelan, Luis Rengifo, is projected as the leadoff hitter Los Angeles Angelsaccording to a report issued by Rhett Bollinger, in charge of covering the team for the Major League Baseball (MLB) portal.

Rengifo has the following numbers in that position: .293 average, product of 66 hits in 225 plate appearances, according to Baseball Reference, while in 2024 in that condition he accumulated a .356 average and .412 OBP.

In addition, the player has speed in his legs, and has become a more patient hitter at the plate, as evidenced by the overall on-base percentage of .339 he left during the previous campaign, well above the .294 he had during the 2022 campaign.

In this sense, the native of Naguanagua, Carabobo state, arrived at the training camp fully recovered from the operation that had to be performed on his right biceps, a cause that did not allow him to finish the 2023 harvest, and commented that he is more than prepared for this new campaign.

“I feel pretty good,” said the versatile player. “It took me about two and a half months to recover, but I was able to start my full training at the end of December. So I come to this training camp to prepare for everything.”
