The day after its general assembly (see our edition of Sunday February 25), the Valognes judo club was awarded the Gold Club Label on February 21 by Clément Morales, technical advisor of the French Judo Federation, commissioned on the Channel territory. It is a very nice distinction which is only granted to 31 clubs in France out of 4,500 and the Valognes club is the only one in Normandy to be thus labeled. The award criteria are the commitment of young people to competition, supervision, participation in courses, the dynamism of the club, involvement in disabled sports and the training of young people to be referees, commissioners or teachers. A well-deserved reward that warms the hearts of its leaders and teachers, Patrick, Cyrille and Benjamin, soon to be joined by Clara at the end of 2024.
