US tennis legend Jimmy Connors commented on Dominic Thiem’s career in his podcast, which he publishes together with his son Brett Connors. With 109 tournament wins on the tour, he is still the most successful player in these statistics and recommends that the 30-year-old from Lower Austria take a look at the “big three”.
“If I were him, I would say: I’m 30 years old, and when I look at Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer, these guys who play into their mid and late 30s: why shouldn’t he Try and give everything to get back to where he was?”
Thiem still has some time for it if he is willing to pay the price for it. “Dominic Thiem still has his name and his reputation, even if he was injured.”
Connors, now 71, was number one in the world and won eight Grand Slam tournaments. He made his last profit attempt at the age of 43.
