President of BC Tavel, Stefan Dietrich puts forward three main reasons. These are structural, financial and sporting, since many current players in the first team have decided to end their careers, starting with Nicole Schaller and Céline Burkart. Without enough succession and money, continuing, even with lesser ambitions, would have been counterproductive, Stefan Dietrich still believes.
Two days before the end of the regular season, Union Tavel-Fribourg occupies the 4th and final qualifying place for the play-offs.
