The clip is titled Let’s carry the flame. And this video went viral on YouTube within a few months (more than 310,000 views). These are two associations from Colombes, the commune of Hauts-de-Seine which will host the field hockey events this summer, which imagined this Olympic anthem, in the fall of 2022.
“Let us carry the flame / Always higher / No qualms for our Olympics / Doves ignite / Always higher / No qualms for our Olympics” : the song was created by Peggy Rolland of the Fausse Note association, the lyrics partly written by children from an elementary school, the music set by a local group (Pur-Sang), the choreography imagined by Virginie Fraioli from the association Collective of passionate actions.
After being first posted online in May 2023, the anthem was recorded in schools, nursing homes, sports associations, in hospitals, in city services… and the resulting video published in November 2023. Its creators say have since been contacted by numerous schools throughout France. “It’s very sincere. And sincerity works”, advances Peggy Rolland to explain the success of the clip.
The goal is now to make another clip after asking Colombians to film themselves. The result will be shown on June 22 during a party organized as part of the Games by the municipality. Colombians will also be invited to come and sing and dance to the house anthem.
