Tjaronn Chery took a point with NEC in the Johan Cruijf ArenA. Afterwards he spoke with Forza NEC and he praised Brian Brobbey.
NEC took a point, but perhaps more could have been achieved if the team had shown a little more courage. Could that possibly be because of the name Ajax? “I don’t know. We have indicated that we will play football full ahead, but of course they have good football players. They are in a lesser phase, but it remains just Ajax and they can play good football.”
Yet Chery also enjoyed Sunday afternoon. “Yes, of course this is a great match. I just expected more from it today. I am happy with how we played as a team and I am happy to be back in the ArenA indeed.”
NEC experienced a debacle against RKC last week, but recovered nicely against Ajax. “If you finally see in the last few minutes that we can get the 2-2 over the line, that is very important. In Brobbey they have a striker who is abnormally strong. They should be happy that he plays for Ajax, otherwise they would have definitely a lot less. This man is gigantic. He is really doing great.”
