When young Patrick was 18 years old, playing for Whitehouse High School in Texas in the 2013-2014 season, he threw that no-hitter in which he recorded 16 strikeouts, one of the achievements that earned him being chosen as the Athlete of the Year of the MaxPreps portal.

In 2014, Pat Mahomes Jr. was chosen by the Detroit Tigers to play in the MLB, but he declined the offer and decided to go to Texas Tech University where he combined baseball with American football and it was in this sport that he caught the attention of own and foreign.

In the end Mahomes decided on football. In 2017, Patrick was chosen by the Kansas City Chiefs in the first round of the NFL Draft, a year later he became the first Chiefs player to win the regular season MVP and in 2020 he ended a 50-year drought no titles for the Kansas City team. In 2024 he will play in Super Bowl number four of his career.
