Archers of the Sea: last Sunday, in the splendid scenery of the Nordio forest in Sant’Anna di Chioggia, the Hunting and Shooting competition was held, organized under the aegis of the Italian Federation of Hunting Sporting Weapons.
There was a large audience present and an equally large number of male and female athletes, 144.
The competition, the first round of the Northern Italian Interregional Country Archery Championship, is also valid as a qualification for the 2023 individual Italian Championship, recognized by CONI and classified as being of pre-eminent national interest.
The results: in the recurve bow category (Hunting and Shooting), first place goes to cadet Gloria Penzo and second to cadet Riccardo Padoan. Again with the recurve bow (Man), first place overall for the national champion Mario Taufer, while worth mentioning is the good performance of Franco Stravaganti who placed fourth.
The Northeast Interregional Championship, which rewards a year of hard work, saw the Clodiense club excel with three gold medals for Francesca Beggiato and Gloria Penzo and Mario Taufer themselves, the star performers of the day. Also noteworthy are the silver medals for Giovanna Grandis, Lorenzo Chieregato and Andrea Doria, as well as the bronze for Eugenio Ragalzi and the fourth place for Roberto Penzo, president of the Arcieri del Mare.
At the end, refreshments for everyone, and the appointment is on April 30th, when the competition will be organized under the aegis of the Italian Federation of Field Shooting Archers, to which the Sea Archers belong.
