The Quisqueya stadium is renovated for the Major League series

Boston Red Sox and Tampa Rays will meet in two games on March 9 and 10.

SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic.─ The Quisqueya stadium underwent a renovation process throughout its infrastructure (internal and external) in preparation for the celebration of the two-game preseason series between the Boston Red Sox and the Tampa Rays. on March 9 and 10.

The day after the sixth game of the Final Series of the Dominican winter ball was held, work began to improve the playing field of the “Colossus” in the La Fe expansion.

“We know that the experience that will be had this year will be better than that of 2020,” Gabriel Alma, UEPA Tickets executive, told Diario Libre.

Contrary to what was done in 2020, when only one match was held between the Minnesota Twins and the Detroit Tigers, this time two games will be played, including a night game on Saturday.

“MLB bets a lot on the Dominican public and we are going to enjoy something unprecedented during those days,” Alma added.

The MLB is a spectacle and the experience starts from the parking, access and facilities provided to the fan.

“The processes are going to be much more comfortable, lighter and most importantly, very safe,” said Alma.

The land
The UEPA Tickets company has been working on its renovation for around 50 days at the facility and as Alma explains, the first stage will always be the land.

“The playing field is one of the most important things, for the safety of the players themselves, and it is where all the visual entertainment that we are going to experience is concentrated, which is a ball game,” he said.

The Quisqueya stadium is the most used during the winter baseball season, due to its condition of being home to two league teams (Licey and Esído), during the season 71 games were played in around three months, in addition to the the Parallel League that is played in the mornings, and this caused the work of removing and placing the new grass to amount to around 40% of the total, according to Alma’s words.

The 2024 World Tour will have material for the stadium mound, a material imported from the state of Pennsylvania, which will give the pitchers the feeling that they are on a Major League mound and the hope is to be able to count on this type of material in the day-to-day life of our country’s stadiums in the winter tournament.

Something that is pertinent to highlight is the level of satisfaction demonstrated by the MLB technicians who are working on the Quisqueya field, in relation to the conditions of our stadium, taking into consideration its levels of use.

“They are very happy that when the Red Sox and the Rays are in the country they will play in a stadium at the levels of a Major League stadium,” Alma continued.

Clubhouses will be improved
The four clubhouses of the Quisqueya stadium will be used during the two-game series, and Alma is aware that the Tigres and Leones dressing rooms are in perfect condition, but due to the use that will be given to the visitors’ clubhouses, they warrant in-depth work. renovation and improvements.

The Red Sox will be on the side of the Licey and the Rays on the side of the Chosen One, according to the information available at the moment.

The stands
The seats in the Grand Stand and the extensions will undergo extensive cleaning and repair work, with the aim that all fans who access the stadium to watch the matches have a seat at the best possible level. All seating areas of the stadium will be used and prices range between one thousand and five thousand pesos.
