The incredible rescue of a constipated donkey thanks to coke: Joey had not eaten for several months after the death of his mother

To remedy this problem, veterinarians gave him six liters of coke for four days through a tube placed in his nose going to his stomach. The donkey ingested a total of twenty-four liters of soda and the desired effect came as Joey was able to cure his intestinal problems! “Actually, the cola acted as a drain cleaner. It eats away at the firm material and eventually softens it until it can pass through,” says veterinary surgeon Jamie Forrest.

The sanctuary where Joey comes from still explains that coke should not be given to healthy donkeys and that if it has to be administered, a qualified veterinarian must do it.
