Didier Deschamps’ Blues will know their group for the 2024-25 Nations League following the draw this Thursday (6 p.m.). And you have to expect some heavy stuff.
Four months before the Euro (June 14 – July 14), the France team will know its program for the 2024-25 season. The draw for the next Nations League is scheduled for this Thursday (6 p.m.) in Paris. It will set the calendar for European nations from September to November 2024, with the Final Four at stake for the best of them in 2025. And for the worst of them, relegation to a lower league, or a round of barrier to avoid it.
The French team has reason to sweat before the draw. Its poor result during the previous Nations League (3rd in its group with a victory, 2 draws and 3 defeats) places it in pot 3, like Germany, Switzerland and Poland. It is therefore not in the prestigious hat 1 (Spain, Italy, Netherlands, Croatia), nor in 2 (Portugal, Belgium, Denmark, Hungary).

It’s difficult to find an opponent who stands out in hat 1, in a good or bad way. The Netherlands nevertheless lost twice against the Blues during the Euro 2024 qualifiers (4-0 then 1-2). For hat 2, neither Belgium nor Portugal would be a gift. Finally, on the hat 4 side, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Israel, who are not yet sure of playing the Euro this summer, are a notch below Serbia and Scotland.
