Tension Rises in Gladbach: Virkus Clashes with Players Before Victory against Bochum

Tense atmosphere in Gladbach!

Before the 5-2 win against Bochum, Gladbach manager Roland Virkus made it clear – because of the Baller League!

When he was asked about the participation of Christoph Kramer (who was head of a team there) and Florian Neuhaus, among others, in the new mix of football field and indoor football, he said on “Sky”: “We saw it and spoke to the boys. They should concentrate on football in Mönchengladbach. It’s her day off. But they have to be very sensitive. The boys have seen that.” Against Bochum, Kramer is on the bench, Neuhaus starts.

The game didn’t kick off until 3:40 p.m. due to the delay of a special train carrying Bochum fans. But then the hosts are fully there.

Ngoumou (28th), Weigl with a penalty (35th), Reitz (72nd), Siebatcheu (78th) and Honorat (90th + 6th) ensure Gladbach’s clear home win. Bochum’s Hofmann (75th) and Schlotterbeck (88th) score for the guests.

STUTTGART – COLOGNE 1:1

Cologne causes a Stuttgart stumble!

The Rhinelanders draw 1-1 at VfB. After four wins in a row, the Swabians are dropping points in the race for the Champions League for the first time.

Stuttgart had little success against the courageous team from Cologne in the first half, so the game remained uneventful.

The second half was different! Millot puts Stuttgart in the lead (53′), Martel equalizes for the guests just nine minutes later (62′).

Alidou even misses the great chance of Cologne’s victory (85th). So it remains a draw.

BREMEN – DARMSTADT 1:1

Werder has major defensive concerns (captain Marco Friedl, Amos Pieper, Milos Veljkovic and Niklas Stark are missing with injuries). That’s what’s going on at the front!

8th minute: Schmid passes through to the right and plays flat into the middle. Njinmah runs in there, Darmstadt defender Zimmermann wants to clear and slides the ball into his own goal. The lead for Werder!

After that it gets embarrassing. In the 18th minute, Ducksch falls in the penalty area in a duel with Darmstadt keeper Schuhe. Referee Badstübner whistles for a penalty, but the slow motion shows a brazen duck swallow. The decision is reversed via video evidence and Ducksch receives a yellow card.

And then Darmstadt strikes back. 33rd minute: Justvan brings the newcomers back into the game. 1:1!

Shortly before the end, Darmstadt celebrates again. After a big mistake by Werder keeper Zetterer, Skarke scored to make it 2-1 for the guests. But the goal is conceded again due to handball.

UNION – HEIDENHEIM 2:2

Turbo start for Heidenheim! 3rd minute: Dovedan is through after a defensive mistake by Vogt and stays cool. Fastest Heidenheim goal in the Bundesliga!

But Union answers. And how! 43rd minute: After a free kick, the ball lands happily at Gosens, who deliberately hits it from eight meters. The compensation! And just four minutes later the game is completely turned around. Schäfer shoots from 20 meters and hits the back of his teammate Aaronson. From there the ball flies in unstoppable. Suddenly Union is leading!

But Heidenheim remains dangerous. 71st minute: A long ball from Dinkci lands at Beste, who lobs over Union keeper Rönnow – 2:2! At the same time the final score.

By the way: The failed entry of a DFL investor (who was supposed to acquire eight percent of the media revenue for 20 years for around one billion euros) is of course a topic in the fan block at Union. On the forest side of the Alte Försterei a banner is shown showing a tennis ball and a soccer ball: “Game, set and victory!” Then comes another banner: “But we’ll be ready for the next serve.”
