“I’ve wanted to play at the college level for a while now,” the Saint-Francois-Xavier student said in a statement. “Ever since I’ve been in Grade 8, I’ve been thinking about it. I didn’t know quite where I would end up, but Lambton College has the best firefighting program and the opportunity to play the two sports . . . closest to me made the decision an easy one.”
Kelch plays singles in badminton and is a centre midfielder for the Sarnia U18 Spirit soccer team.
“I’m looking forward to meeting all of the new people on the teams and in my program,” she said. “I’m also looking forward to seeing how far I can go in both of my sports and juggling everything at the same time.”

Bailey commits to Lambton softball
Lambton Lions softball coach Greg Shortt is counting on new recruit Elisabeth Bailey to contribute at and behind the plate.
The London catcher is the fourth player to commit to the Lions for next season.
“I’m excited to add a player like Elisabeth,” Shortt said in a statement. “Having coached against her in the past, her throwing strength and accuracy stood out to me from the catcher’s position, and her bat . . . will be an asset.”
Bailey attends Saunders secondary school and plays for the London Lightning in the summer.
“I’ve worked so hard for so long to be able to get to this level and to get into school, so I’m very excited to play here,” she said.
