Is there something that the life of spouses has in common with that of priests and religious?

The answer is in the title of the meeting that Regional training school for family pastoral workers organized in Matera, in collaboration with the CEB (Episcopal Conference of Basilicata) on Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 February 2024: – Spouses and Priests: community builders -.

The venue of the meeting, organized as a family weekend and also open to non-experts, will beAuditorium of the Sant’Anna Institute: starting from Saturday afternoon at 4pm, around a hundred participants (married couples, priests, men and women religious) will meet here to share their life experiences.

The report opened the proceedings Friar Marco Vianellidirector of the National Family Pastoral Office which will be followed by the testimonies of married couples who will dialogue with priests and nuns.

The purpose of the meeting, organized by the Regional School for family pastoral workers, now in its third year of activity, is to promote the accompaniment and care of families in our communities, a task of social as well as ecclesial value that unites married couples and priests.

The meeting in Matera will also be characterized by convivial movements: on Saturday evening a walk in the Sassi towards the Church of San Pietro Caveoso where at 9pm, Marco Pelosideputy director of the diocesan museum, will entertain guests with a story about the “Rural civilization and popular religiosity in the Sassi district “.

He will also take part in the two-day event in Matera Mons. Antonio Giuseppe Caiazzo, Archbishop of Matera-Irsina and Bishop of Tricarico, who on Sunday morning at 12 will preside over the Eucharistic Concelebration in the Hall of the Sant’Anna Institute.
