Serie A – Bologna-Sassuolo 4-2, report cards: Saelemaekers and Fabbian at the top. Evening to forget for VitI and Boloca

Bologna-Sassuolo, a match valid for the 23rd matchday of Serie A, ended with a score of 4-2 thanks to goals from Thorstvedt, an own goal from Viti, and goals from Volpato, Fabbian, Ferguson and Saelemaekers. For Thiago Motta’s band, Atalanta stuck – at least momentarily – in 4th place with 36 points. The neroverdi, stuck at 19 points and totally physically disappeared in the second half of the second half, must start looking carefully over their shoulders… Below are the votes for the protagonists of the match.

Bologna’s report cards

Lukasz SKORUPSKI 5: no small mess that gives the 0-1 to Sassuolo. Yet another mistake by a goalkeeper in the restart from below: his pass to Freuler is very short and Thorstvedt takes advantage of it.

Stefan POSCH 5.5: first half between one distraction and another. He recovers, but only partially, during the recovery.

Sam BEUKEMA 5.5: “ditto with potatoes” compared to Posch. Butter markings during the first fraction. Then, a certain awakening in the second 45′.

Riccardo CALAFIORI 6: his performance, however, falls within the canons of sufficiency, also reinforced by the always insidious offensive incursions.

Victor KRISTIANSEN 6: until the 70th minute he loses any type of ball. After that, he has the great merit of drawing a kissing cross for Fabbian on the occasion of the momentary 2-2.

Dall’82’ Charalampos Lykogiannis: sv.

Michel AEBISCHER 6: plays the card of the midfielder’s experience, spending the yellow card to stop a dangerous counterattack by Bajrami. Yellow which, however, will make him miss the next match..

From the 58th minute Riccardo Orsolini 6.5: together with Saelemaekers, he brings inspiration and liveliness to a Bologna that had been dull until then.

Remo FREULER 5.5: in the first half his shield works quite badly. Try to make up for it in the second half.

Kacper URBANSKI 6.5: enlightening foot and vision of the game. A real resource you can rely on..

From the 58th minute Alexis Saelemaekers 7.5: comes on and completely changes the face of Bologna, making it much more courageous, strong-willed and quick in finding the play in tight spaces. Then, many extraordinary openings to his teammates and his, well-deserved, first goal with the Bologna shirt.

Lewis FERGUSON 7: the Scot displays all his character. And he scores a goal (for the temporary 3-2) of correctness and style.

Giovanni FABBIAN 7: third center with the Bologna shirt for the Inter school and former Reggina midfielder. He leaps into the air like a basketball player looking for the magic dribble.

From 82′ Nikola Moro: sv.

Joshua ZIRKZEE 7: great coordination on the provisional 1-1 goal, which then officially became an own goal by Viti. He runs like a man possessed and shows off excellent personal technique

Mister Thiago MOTTA (suspended, Hugeaux on the bench) 6.5: starts with a somewhat alternative eleven, then understands that two with the qualities of Orsolini and Saelemaekers cannot in any way warm the bench…

Sassuolo’s report cards

Andrea CONSIGLI 6: holds up as best he can, only to be hit with balls in the last minutes of the game..

Marcus PEDERSEN 5.5: alternates overwhelming runs along the right, with moments of distraction that admit of no excuses.

Martin ERLIC 6: he struggles a lot, so much so that he comes out with cramps. Stylistically not perfect, but still within the category of sufficient.

Mattia VITI 4.5: deflects decisively and Zirkzee’s conclusion into his own goal, which then turns out to be the winner in the 24th minute. It is an own goal, which combines with a performance that is certainly not without blemishes, at the center of the Neroverde defense.

Josh DOIG 5.5: the Scotsman seems to have lost the competitive ardor that had characterized him last season..

Luca LIPANI 6.5: debut in Serie A with excellent personality and good vision of the game for the former Genoa player born in 2005.

From the 58th minute Daniel Boloca 5: enters, risks an own goal (header) and gets a yellow card. Not a memorable Saturday night for him.

Kristian THORSTVEDT 7: running, classy shots, long range attempts and a goal, the one that unlocks the match. In short, an all-rounder from the waist up.

Cristian VOLPATO 7: goal of extraordinary beauty, that of the momentary 1-2. He starts with great imagination and desire to do things, slows down slightly in the second half.

From the 58th minute Emil Ceide 5.5: fails to enter the game as expected.

Nedim BAJRAMI 6: during the first half, many interesting counterattacks, only to then remain with our heads in the changing rooms during the second half.

From the 68th minute Uros Racic 6: tries to dish out a couple of interesting balls in the centre.

Armand LAURIENTE 5: performance from “Who has seen it”. Totally apathetic, up front.

Andrea PINAMONTI 6: he sacrifices a lot for the department and the entire team, but he arrives in the goal zone with a dropper..

Mister Alessio DIONISI 5.5: good, at times very good for the first 70 minutes. Then his team falls apart, first of all physically and ends up taking the plunge.
